Canada Del Oro Riverfront Park

With over 30 acres of lovely green space, Canada del oro Riverfront Park is located right in the heart of Oro Valley, making it one of the communities most frequented outdoor areas.  It includes everything from team oriented fields and courts for soccer, softball, basketball, tennis and volleyball, to an equestrian staging area and nearly 10 miles of walking paths.  There are also 3 covered ramadas with picnic tables and built in grills for group gatherings, and even a shaded play area for the little tykes.

Despite all that this park has to offer, including an abundance of free parking, there is no fee at all to make use of it.

Entrance to Canada Del Oro Riverfront Park in Oro ValleyIf you decide to have a group picnic and realize someone (or you?) forgot a key staple for your gathering, there’s no need to panic!  There are several grocery stores very nearby that can supply you with pretty much whatever you need. There is a Trader Joe’s less than 3 miles away at 7912 N. Oracle Rd, and even closer you’ll find a Fry’s only about a mile away at 10450 N. La Canada Dr.

If you don’t feel like leaving the celebration even for a minute and want to have pizza delivered that is sure to please the whole gang, you can always call Marco’s Pizza at 520-297-6500 (they are located at 10550 N La Canada Dr, which is only about a mile away).

Finally, if you’re looking for a good place to eat nearby once you’re done having fun at the park, we recommend Noble Hops (we’re big fans of craft beer, and they have a great selection!)  Noble Hops is only a little over a mile away at 1335 W Lambert Ln, Oro Valley, AZ 85737, so you could even walk there along Lambert and get there in about 30 minutes.

About the same distance in the opposite direction (if you vere right onto E Pusch View Ln as you head east), you’ll find Sushi Valley that consistently get good reviews on Google.  Their address is 10509 N Oracle Rd #131, Oro Valley, AZ 85737.

CDO Park is truly a community favorite.  Reading various online reviews you’ll quickly see what we mean, such as this one found on Yelp and written by Nathan S. of Tucson:  “Nice park with lots to do. They have two sets of playground equipment with the smaller geared towards toddlers. The larger has a one twist and one straight slide. It also has monkey bars, a rock wall, and other “ladders” to the top. You’ll find swings for all ages.  There are two large soccer fields, a couple baseball fields, and basketball and tennis courts. Bring a dog and take them on the walking trails. Two pavilions are available for group events. If you end up staying longer than expected, you’ll find bathrooms on site.”
