Rancho Vistoso
Rancho Vistoso is a beautifully planned community located in Oro Valley and is made up of over 30 different neighborhoods with a variety of homes within them. You can find everything from affordable, low maintenance condominiums to gorgeous multi-million dollar estate homes. And it’s not limited to only residential either, as there is plenty of commercial development carefully and strategically developed within the scenic desert landscape.
Almost anywhere you find yourself in Rancho Vistoso, you will have majestic views of the desert and mountains surrounding you. But even amongst all this natural beauty, you’re never far from a great selection of dining establishments, shopping, golf, a first class hospital and other medical providers and facilities. Of course hiking and biking trails are plentiful as well within, and just beyond the community.
Within the bounds of Rancho Vistoso, there are already 10 well equipped parks with more slated to be built as the community continues to see more growth and expansion, as well as a system of nature paths that wind their way through the desert landscape which are perfect for walking or jogging. Also worth noting is that the major streets throughout the community have been built with bike lanes to encourage the use of non-motorized methods of transportation.
With so many attractive options in the immediate vicinity, it’s no wonder that the real estate market is pretty hot here right now. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still find what you’re looking for, whether it’s a small, easy to care for ‘snowbird’ home, or something to call your full-time home. Finding your way around Rancho Vistoso is quite easy. For example, if you were at the on-site office mentioned above at 945 W. Vistoso Highlands Dr. and wanted to get to Center Pointe Park, you would simply head east on W Vistoso Highlands Dr for about a half mile, then turn right on N Hidden Springs Dr for less than a quarter mile and finally go right onto W Pebble Creek Dr. In less than a mile the park will be on your right.

Another activity that was brought to our attention recently was DANZON! School Of Dance located at 13008 N Salt Cedar Dr, Oro Valley, AZ 85755, which you can get to quickly from Center Pointe Park by keeping right as you leave the park on W Pebble Creek Drive so that you merge onto N. La Canada Dr, which you will stay on for about a mile. Wehn you reach W Desert Fairway Dr you’ll make a left and travel about a quarter mile before finally going right onto N Salt Cedar Dr. You’ll find the School of Dance on your left.

Just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from the dance school is a different kind of school that is drawing a lot of attention; Innovation Academy, a K-5 STEM school located at 825, W Desert Fairway Dr, Oro Valley, AZ 85755. They can be reached by phone at (520) 269-4610. They have a great reputation and a beautiful campus that you should check out. To get there from where we left off just get back onto W Desert Fairway Dr by turning right (in a north-easterly direction), and go about a quarter mile and you’ll see the school on your right.

On the other end of the age spectrum, you might want to check out Splendido At Rancho Vistoso, a 55 and over retirement community located at 13500 N Rancho Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley, AZ 85755. It’s only about a 4 minute drive from Innovation Academy, or a little over a mile. If you’re driving, you’ll continue on W Desert Fairway Dr for about a half mile until you reach N Hidden Springs Dr, where you’ll turn left. After another half mile or so, go right onto W Vistoso Highlands Dr for a short distance (a couple hundred yards), before turning right again on N Rancho Vistoso Blvd. In a few hundred feet you’ll find Splendido on your left.

If you’re looking for a good place to get some tasty, original food and maybe wash it down with a nice choice of craft brews, you should check out Noble Hops at 1335 W Lambert Ln, Oro Valley, AZ 85737. From Splendido it’s only about a 10 minute drive. You’ll want to head back out to N Rancho Vistoso Blvd and head south for about ¼ mile until you can take a right on W Moore Rd. When you get to La Canada, take a left and head south for about 5 miles. When you get to W Lambert Ln, take a left and Noble Hops will be on your right in a few hundred feet. Enjoy the views and the brews… we do! In fact, it’s one of our favorite places to have some great happy hour food.

For us, it’s one of our favorite Oro Valley spots and it’s pretty much a straight shot once we travel a short distance west on W Tangerine Rd, then south down N La Canada to W Lambert Ln. Maybe we’ll see you there!
